WHY ME?

That really is the question, isn't it?

People usually associate that question with something less than ideal happening in their lives, rather than an opportunity to set themselves apart. I lost nearly all of my sight at a very young age. Not the start I would've chosen especially since I didn't get any of those crazy Daredevil abilities. It did offer me a few things. My sidekick in the pic there, Harriet, was my fearless partner and friend for 12 years, and my new little yellow pal Nation has been a joy to have with me in this next chapter of life. More relevant to the reason you're here, my situation also paved the way for me discovering the type of work I most enjoy. Working in a booth or studio, piecing things together, is where I am most comfortable. That doesn't necessarily answer the question though. What you get with me is someone who cares that you are satisfied with the work I give you. Call it being a perfectionist, call it OCD (I'm leaning the latter) the point is I like to make sure we understand each other. I like to know as many details about what my client wants and when I send you a file, whether a VO, a podcast edit, etc, my first thought is, what improvements can we make, not when do I get paid? My personality and various hobbies in geek culture have very much colored my performance style today. How can I make this more interesting? Would this be barable if it was more intense? These may sound more suited to character pieces, but I believe the answers can be found in any project. But can you answer this for me? Why Not?
